Holy Angels Art Trail
Art can be a great stimulus to thought and spiritual reflection. We have a surprisingly large number of people at Holy Angels who are artists or who have an interest in art. There are some very intereting original pieces of art in the Church and even more in the Priest’s House. I therefore welcome the suggestion that we should have one item on display each week in the church with a few words about the artist and the picture. If you have a particular piece of art work that you would like to share with our community please see Father David, Father Paul or Evelyn Gorniok.
Baby & Toddler Group –meet every Tuesday from 10.30am – 12.00pm in St. Mary’s room, Holy Angels.
Information
At Holy Angels, Ash AGM the suitability of the present weekend Mass Time was discussed. Two people asked if we could have a vote on the Mass Times. I am aware that the change from Saturday evening Mass to Sunday evening (which took place before I came) caused a number of people difficulties. I do not want to cause anyone any inconvenience. However, as the Diocese has (for the Year Book) asked us to confirm our present Mass Times for Next Year. I am taking the opportunity to consult.
Please let Rita, our Parish Secretary, know by phone, email or letter if:-
A: It would be helpful to you if the Weekend evening Mass were to be changed to Saturday
B: If the weekend evening Mass were changed to Saturday and there was no Sunday evening Mass, it would make it difficult for you to get to Mass.
Thank you to those people who have responded but please we do need more of you to let us know your preferences.
Altar Servers – If you have made your 1st Holy Communion and would like to be an altar server (including older people) please let Deacon John know and an initial training morning will be arranged.
Youth Meeting – (Please note the change of date and time)
The Youth Group Meeting : Will be held on Saturday 15th September 3:00pm – 5:00pm and not as mentioned in last week’s newsletter. (A change was made after the Newsletter had already gone to print). Please try and come along so we can plan ahead for the year, and discuss what time or day is best for future meetings.
New members very welcome, Year 7 and above.
Ugandan Presentation: Gloria, Sam and Grahame would like to thank all the parishioners for their support and prayers for the Mission to Uganda. They would like to share some of their experiences with you. Sam will be holding a Presentation on Sunday 16th September after the 9:15 Mass, and they all will be holding a presentation after 11:00 Mass with teas and cupcakes.
Please continue to keep the Project Team in your prayers and pray that they keep well and have a safe journey back home to their loved ones.

A note from the Editor
Apologies if you have been sending me emails and receiving a bounce back, but as you probably gathered I have been experiencing problems with connection to the Internet which has meant emails have not been getting through and I have been unable to send any out. I would like to thank Richard for realising the problem and for getting the office back on line. We are now almost functional again!
A Prayer for the Elderly
Lord Jesus Christ, you are the same yesterday, today and forever, and you have promised to be with us all our days. We pray for all elderly people, especially those who are ill or house-bound. In their weakness may they find your strength and in their loneliness know the joy of your presence. Be to them a sure and certain hope of the life that you have prepared for them in Heaven. (Taken from The Book of a Thousand Prayers)
Lord we pray for all those in our own parish who are struggling with growing old. Their bodies are becoming weak and frail. Many live alone and are lonely and at times afraid of what tomorrow might bring. Lord we ask you to be with them to comfort them and to grant them your PEACE to remove all fear knowing that you are with them always even until the enf of time. Amen
