After his Ordination to the priesthood Fr.Robin intends to continue the practice of being available to hear confessions before the Saturday Vigil Mass. We used to have the opportunity to have confession heard before the Sunday Mass at Holy Family, and that Fr. Terry has experimented with being available after both Sunday morning masses. Please let Deacon Robin know what you have found or would find helpful.
As Catholics we are especially asked to confess all serious sin at least once a year before Easter, though it is a good spiritual practice to do so more regularly! Pope Francis has commented wryly that as Catholics we sometimes think of the confessional as a torture chamber, while it is in fact ‘an encounter with the Lord’s mercy which spurs us on to do our best.’ The Pope wisely reminds us that this sacrament is not only the ordinary way to set ourselves right with God after sin but an important source of grace to help us grow in holiness and resist temptation. Please avail yourself of this way of encountering the Lord.
Invite a friend or family member to attend Church with you at Easter or to the Ordination of Deacon Robin. This is a good time to share your faith with those around you.
Prayer Group: takes place once a month on a Tuesday in the Parish Office at Holy Angels Church at 7.30pm for a 7.45pm start.
Next meeting: 14th April and 12th May, 20
EASTER EGGS APPEAL: Our youth group supports the local charity, ‘Step by Step’ and have asked if we could perhaps buy one additional egg when we are out shopping for the young residents at Step by Step. With grateful thanks as always! (Hilary Gray will collect from Holy Family Church and Gloria Benson from Holy Angels Church.)
A & B Diocesan Gold Jubilee – Sunday 5th July, 2015
A message from Archbishop Peter Smith: Festival 50 on the 5th July this year will be an important event in the history of the Diocese of Arundel & Brighton. I hope and pray that many of the people of the Diocese will be inspired to participate in the day, especially those who are sick and infirm. I invite you all to join me at the Festival, in the morning from 10am and for the Jubilee Mass at 3pm.
There is limited car parking except for the disabled, we therefore intend to lay on coaches for people to travel to the event. Next weekend there will be a list available at the back of both Churches for people to sign if they are wishing to travel by coach. Please sign the form asap as we need to book the coaches well in advance of this event. With thanks.
Baptisms
If you are wanting a child baptised Baptism forms are available at the back of Church. You will need to attend an evening’s course. The next course will be towards the end of April. A date will given shortly.

Message from Deacon Robin
This is my last weekend with you before my ordination as a priest. It is also the celebration of Mothering Sunday and my birthday! So I have a lot to be thankful for at the moment. All of these celebrations in my life are about family.
As a married priest there is at times an inevitable tension between the two families you have been given, your domestic family, and the family of the Church. Both have a claim on your heart and your time, and you are responsible before God for both of them. This is the danger of the divided heart that St Paul talks about and which the Church is conscious of in guarding the gift of celibacy as the normal way of life for a priest.
For those of us who have been given this particular exception of combining the two vocations of marriage and priesthood there is thus a difficult balancing act. It is one made much easier however by a congregation that is loving and supportive. I have been very encouraged since my arrival here by the way you have accepted and loved us as a family, and made us feel very much part of the church family here in our two parishes. At its best the double vocations I have been called to should inform and encourage each other. That is very much my prayer, that my experience of fatherhood and family life in the domestic sphere will enrich my ministry among you, and that likewise my ministry here with you will enrich my family life as well. I look forward very much to beginning the next stage of my ministry with you as your priest. Deacon Robin
