Confessions will continue to take place before the Saturday Vigil Mass. We used to have the opportunity to have confessions heard before the Sunday Mass at Holy Family, and Fr. Terry experimented with being available after both Sunday morning masses. Please let Fr. Robin know what you have found or would find helpful.
As Catholics we are especially asked to confess all serious sin at least once a year before Easter, though it is a good spiritual practice to do so more regularly! Pope Francis has commented wryly that as Catholics we sometimes think of the confessional as a torture chamber, while it is in fact ‘an encounter with the Lord’s mercy which spurs us on to do our best.’ The Pope wisely reminds us that this sacrament is not only the ordinary way to set ourselves right with God after sin but an important source of grace to help us grow in holiness and resist temptation. Please avail yourself of this way of encountering the Lord.
EASTER EGGS APPEAL: Our youth group supports the local charity, ‘Step by Step’ and have asked if we could perhaps buy one additional egg when we are out shopping for the young residents at Step by Step. With grateful thanks as always! (Hilary Gray will collect from Holy Family Church and Gloria Benson from Holy Angels Church.)
A & B Diocesan Golden Jubilee – Sunday 5th July, 2015
A message from Archbishop Peter Smith: Festival 50 on the 5th July this year will be an important event in the history of the Diocese of Arundel & Brighton. I hope and pray that many of the people of the Diocese will be inspired to participate in the day, especially those who are sick and infirm. I invite you all to join me at the Festival, in the morning from 10am and for the Jubilee Mass at 3pm.
There is limited car parking except for the disabled, we therefore intend to lay on coaches for people to travel to the event. Next weekend there will be a list available at the back of both Churches for people to sign if they are wishing to travel by coach. Please sign the form asap as we need to book the coaches well in advance of this event. With thanks.
Baptisms
If you are wanting a child baptised Baptism forms are available at the back of both Churches. You will need to attend an evening’s course. The next course will be towards the end of April. A date will be available shortly.
Holy Angels
Help still required to serve Coffee after Mass: We have only had one response to our request for more helpers to serve Teas and Coffee following Mass the First and Third Sunday of the month and need more people please. (Please contact the Parish Office if you can help.)

Holy Week is the heart of the Christian year in which we come face to face with the mystery of our salvation particularly in the liturgies of the Triduum, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and the Easter Vigil. This year it is the turn of Holy Angels Church to host the Triduum for both parishes, but it is one of the important times when we are asked to come together as sister parishes for this celebration.
This week are asking for people to sign up for the ‘Foot Washing’ on Maundy Thursday from both parishes. (Please see the list at the back of both Churches)

Message from Father Robin
Dear friends, as we go to press I am still preparing to celebrate my first Masses, but in a very real way the first Sunday Masses of this weekend will also be my first parish Masses. How very strange it will be not to have Fr. Terry with us, who has been so much a part of our parish life these last few months.
I was very touched by the number of you who were able to support me by attending my Ordination last night, it made the occasion so special to be surrounded by our new family in these two parishes. It seems very appropriate (if busy) that we are about to launch ourselves into the wonderful rites of Holy Week. This is always for me the heart of the year and it is very exciting to be able to celebrate it with you as your Priest.
In the Resurrection we begin our lives anew in Christ and so it is particularly appropriate that we begin our lives together in this Holy time.
With love and prayers.
