Holy Angels
Children’s Liturgy: We are blessed with a thriving young church at Holy Angels. However, the current team of catechists for Children’s Liturgy is small, and we are finding it difficult to hold CL on a weekly basis. Please note that we will be holding Children’s Liturgy on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month going forward. We would hope to hold it every week again, but first we need more catechists who are prepared to lead the lesson. Can you help us please? If so, please contact Bec Newey on 07854 231469 or johnandbec@ntlworld.com
Prayer Group for Holy Angels and Holy Family Churches takes place once a month on a Tuesday in the Parish Office at Holy Angels. The next date is Tuesday, 3rd June, 8th July and 2nd September. (Coffee at 7.30pm for 7.45pm start).
Holy Family
As part of the long term restoration plan for Holy Family the flat roofs above the Sacristy and side chapels need some attention. We are lucky that the work is only minor and should not take long, but we thought it wise to let you know so that if you should see men on the roof, you will know that it is a legitimate activity. For the record, the workmen will be from Marshalls. Please keep a vigilant eye on the building and always help us by reporting any suspicious activity to Fr. David, Deacon John or the Parish Office.
Also as part of the restoration plan, the internal walls are to be repainted in stages during the next eight weeks. The back wall will need some minor repair work and scaffolding for this work to be carried out so the organ (for it’s safety and so that it can still be used for weddings etc) has been moved to the front of the Church. The Builders have assured us that they will work around Weddings, Baptisms and the First Holy Communions and that the Church will always be left looking good for the occasions which they realise are so important personally for people.

May is the month of Mary
The hymn O Mother Blessed was composed by St. Alphonsus (1699 – 1787)
O Mother blest, whom God bestows
on sinners and on just,
what joy, what hope thou givest those
who in thy mercy trust.
Thou art clement, though art chaste,
Mary, thou art fair;
of all mothers sweetest, best;
none with thee compare.
