Special Collection
Today is Sea Sunday, when the Church prays for all those who live and work at sea. Without them we would not have most of the items we buy in the shops. Today’s second collection is for Apostleship of the Sea (AoS), the Church’s official maritime welfare agency. It supports seafarers both practically and spiritually. This annual collection is absolutely vital to enable it to continue its work so please give generously and remember seafarers in your prayers. Thank you.

Urgent Action – Assisted Suicide
On Friday 11th September the House of Commons will debate and vote on a Bill to legalise assisted suicide. This will put the most vulnerable people in our society at risk. Please contact your MP, urging them to attend the debate and vote against the Bill. You can send an e-mail to your MP via the Catholic Bishops’ Conference website (www.catholicnews.org.uk/assisted-suicide) or send a letter by post, a draft of which can be found at the back of the Church.
If you have personal experiences to share with them please do. MPs listen to their own constituents and will want to hear about your concerns.
Every person’s life is equally worthy of respect and protection. Even if someone loses sight of the dignity and value of their life (whether through pain, suffering or loneliness) they remain valuable in themselves and a member of the human family. They deserve care, support and sometimes medical treatment for depression, not assistance with suicide.

Youth: Trip to Tanzania
The group leave to help at the Karibu Nyumbani orphanage this Friday. Please keep them and all at the orphanage in your prayers.

Crossroads Care Surrey launches new Club at Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice
Crossroads Care Surrey, the leading provider of respite breaks to unpaid Carers in Surrey, is pleased to announce the launch of their new Adult Social Club at Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice. In celebration of the launch, Crossroads Care Surrey held a Carers’ Tea Party at the Hospice on the 20th June. The Deputy Mayor of Farnham, Councillor John Ward and the Deputy Mayoress of Farnham, Mrs Gillian Ward attended on the day, to officially launch the Club and show their support for the local charities. Crossroads Care Surrey currently runs 14 Adults Social Clubs across Surrey, for adults with varying disabilities including dementia. The Farnham Saturday Club will be held every Saturday 11am-3pm at Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, giving carers an extended, affordable break of up to five hours. Baptisms
Baptism forms are available at the back of both Churches. Parents will need to attend an evening Baptism course. Please return your completed Baptism Form to Deacon John Edwards so that you can be included in the next Course.
The next Baptism evening will take place on Wednesday 15th July at Holy Family Church which will be the last Baptism course until September.
Please note that we expect to be running a course for children of seven and older as part of the catechetical programs in the Autumn.
Holy Angels
Prayer Group: takes place once a month on a Tuesday in St. Mary’s Room at Holy Angels Church at 7.30pm for a 7.45pm start.

Friday Morning Mass at Holy Angels
This week I am celebrating Mass at All Hallows School for their end of Term Mass. This will necessitate the Friday Mass being at 9.30am again. I am aware that having to shift the Mass around is not very helpful. Moving the Mass to 10.00am has not in fact had any impact on the numbers of people attending the mass. Therefore I think that the best thing is probably to move the mass time back to 9.30am again. If there are people who would attend at 10.00 if we kept the mass time then now is the time to tell me! However I do usually keep Friday Mornings free as an office time so there are advantages to holding the mass earlier, and keeping the morning free. This is usually a good time to catch me!

First Holy Communion 2016
Application forms are now available at the back of each church for the First Holy Communion Programme 2015 -2016.
Your child must be in YEAR 3 or above to be considered for the programme and as a family you are requested to be registered with the parish. Location of classes alternates between Holy Angels, Ash and Holy Family, Heath End and all the children must attend all lessons (you will find the dates on the sheet attached to the application form). Deacon David Morgan who we have been remembering in our prayers for the sick passed away peacefully on the 5th July. Please pray for the repose of his soul and for his family.
A&B Jubilee
Thank you to everyone who was able to make the trip to Brighton for our Diocesan Jubilee celebrations. It was very good to be able to come together as a Diocese and share with our new Bishop. If you were not able to come you might find it encouraging to read Bp Richard’s homily to us as he encouraged us to look forward as the people of God in this place.
